I’ve previously written about my journey moving to the UK and going through the immigration process. This summer I found myself in a citizenship ceremony, so giddy I could not stop cheesing. It was a long, expensive, and stressful process. Almost 8 years had gone by since I’d landed here, and every year I had counted down to that moment. In some ways, I was in disbelief – girl, you actually did it! Although, fill that with a few expletives, and it’ll be closer to my real thought process.
I wouldn’t be me, though, if the very next though wasn’t “what next?” Even now, I’m still unsure, but it’s nice to have that entire process behind me.
The first thing I did…travel back home to The Bahamas.
