Hair Hair Product Reviews

Slowly Falling For…

Miss Jessie’s stylers for dry styling on blown out hair…OMG!! I really wanted to hate the products, for all that nonsense the owners spew, and the sub par ingredients.

BUT…I am slowly falling for them. Them being the products: the Stretch Silkening Creme (like this the least but only because of its fragrance: soap!), Curly Meringue (my favorite; smells like pineapple soda to me), and Curly Pudding Unscented (undecided; smells like Dax Jojoba Oil or vanilla cake).

The distinction between Curly Pudding Unscented and the original is necessary because despite what they say, the ingredients do differ. I’ve read that they yield different results, but as I only have the one (currently), I can’t say for myself.

How I use them: I apply leave-in and a sealant to freshly washed hair then blow dry my hair using a Denman reminiscent brush (also known as a knock-off) to pull the strands straight. Afterwards, I apply more sealant to my ends. When done, I apply a MJ styler in sections and braid each. It’s usually 12-14 braids. I use cold wave rods on the ends. The result: big soft fro with waves that last. I purposely frizz my hair out, and still have definition!

This isn’t a formal review. I’ll do one once I’ve used the products more.

The last day for BOGOF on the MJ website is Dec. 31, 2011. In the DMV area, at Beauty 4U, the last day is Jan. 1, 2012. I know the 8oz stylers are $28.99, but I don’t recall the prices for other items.
