Like most naturals, I’ve had a bit of a love affair with Shea Moisture, but that ended abruptly in the sea of new products and to my dismay, formulation changes. In my last post I noted that Shea Moisture is now available in Superdrug and Boots in the UK. While perusing the site (because there is a sale) and contemplating getting some of my old favourites, I noticed the ingredients looked different.
Here is a list of ingredients for Shea Moisture Organic Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Style Milk that I posted in January 2013:
Ingredients: Deionized water, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter)*, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut Oil)*, Sugar Starch, Silk Protein, Essential Oil Blend, Melila Azadirachta (Neem) Seed Oil, Caprylyl Glycol, Sorbitol Esters, Algae Extract, Hyssopus Officinalis Extract, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf and Equisetum Arvense Extract, Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Seed Oil, Caprifolium (Honeysuckle) Flower (and) Lonicera Japonica (Japanese Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Tocopherol (Vitamin E).

I think it’s wonderful how Shea Moisture has grown and now has a range of products marketed for different hair and skin concerns, but I don’t think I’ll be revisiting any of the products with new formulations, at least not anytime soon. I’m also removing them from my HG list since it seems the old formulations are no longer available.
The products that I loved are not the same anymore, and I’m not too keen on wasting money to keep trying new variations every time a company changes formula.
