I went from wearing perfume everyday to almost never. With working from home for a year and constantly dressing casually – and minimally – I just never reached for it. I had also finished all of my favourites so I was even less inclined to spritz myself. Last month I started looking for new fragrances and replenishing some of my favourites, like Kilian I Don’t Need A Prince By My Side to be a Princess. It’s perfect in colder weather, but with Spring coming, I wanted something fresh and fruity.
Vilhelm Parfumerie Mango Skin was exactly what I wanted. It is a fruity scent without being overly sweet or cloying. The notes listed vary on different sites:

- Heart Notes: Wild Orris, Black Lotus, Jasmine
- Base Notes: Patchouli, Vanilla, Pink Sugar

- Heart Notes: Frangipani, Mango Blossom, Ylang-Ylang
- Base Notes: Blackcurrant, Red Wine, Musk, Civet
On me, the fragrance is closer to the notes listed on Fragrantica. In the opening, there’s a burst of mango and orange that transitions into a more floral fragrance. The mango note is still present as the fragrance develops. In the dry down, there’s hints of red wine, musk, and a little bit of patchouli. It’s layered and unique; I love this fragrance. Smelling it makes me think of having fresh mango with a little lime juice. It isn’t overly sweet; it’s refreshing and uplifting, if you could even describe a fragrance as that. Overall, Mango Skin is just beautiful! It is the perfect Spring/Summer fragrance.
