Give Me Glow (GMG) Cosmetics is one of those brands that has tempted me for months, if not years. The shadows are also carmine-free so that made it even more appealing. I finally went ahead and purchased some of the single pan shadows and palettes this year. The palettes are beautiful, but it’s the single shadows that really wowed me. I picked out a nice mix of neutral, yet colourful shadows, to create a multifunctional palette.
Here are the shadows in order from left to right.
Top row: Hey Chick, Skinny Dip, Last Summer, Whiskey
Middle row: Going Bananas, Fireworks, Raspberry Cheesecake, Strawberry Lollipop
Bottom Row: Tan Lines, Chili, Wine O’Clock, Cruel Intentions
These are some of the most pigmented shadows I own. I’d put them up there with Viseart, but GMG mattes have a smoother texture and don’t feel as dry to the touch. Wine O’Clock is the only shadow that has a feel similar to Viseart. The metallic shadows are very smooth but have a thicker consistency. They can be sheered down or applied heavily for a more intense look.
The shadows are very intense. The swatches are shown with different lighting so you can see how they look in various conditions. The lightest shades are the only ones I had to layer for swatching, mainly Hey Chick.
I’ve used the shadows before, applied lightly, for a natural bronzed lid. With Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion as a base, the look lasted all day with no creasing or fading. The shadows are massive; I don’t think I’d ever finish one. The pan size makes it easier to use them as a multi-purpose powder. Whether you want to use it as blush, contour, or bronzer, a larger brush will easily fit in the pan.
