Review: Fresh Soy Face Cleanser

Since I changed up my skincare routine almost a year ago, Fresh Soy Face Cleanser is the only cleanser that I have bought more than once.

Product Claims: Fresh Soy Face Cleanser is your must-have cleanser and go-to makeup remover. This gel cleanser for all skin types gently washes off every day impurities like dirt and makeup—even mascara—without drying the skin.

The face cleanser tones, soothes, and softens the skin for a radiant, healthy-looking complexion. Amino acid-rich soy proteins help support natural elasticity and healthy skin, while rosewater is notable for its calming and balancing properties. The cleanser is further enriched with calming cucumber extract to soothe the skin and borage seed oil to nourish. Soy Face Cleanser is extra gentle and can be used daily, morning and night—even around the eye area.

Ingredients: Water, Coco-Glucoside, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Peg-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Xanthan Gum, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Bor…

Review: Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel Extra Strength Formula

Earlier in the year I got a few samples of Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel Extra Strength Formula. Unfortunately, I'd forgotten they were sitting in my sample stash until I was watching reviews on Youtube and the name kept coming up! Needless to say, I was beyond grateful for this hidden find in my closet.
Product Claims: A quick and convenient way to rejuvenate your complexion, Dr. Gross’s Extra Strength formula is the only peel on the market to combine five alpha- and beta-hydroxy acids with potent, wrinkle-wrestling antioxidants (including retinol (vitamin A), ubiquinone and resveratrol), to simultaneously smooth, refine and protect your skin in a jiffy. The patented two-step pads instantly enhance skin’s luminosity, while with regular use, you’ll quickly see a difference in the visibility of pores, redness and uneven skin tone (the formula’s phenomenally brightening). Perfect for anyone looking to repair signs of superficial skin damage, these anti-ageing pads are suitable f…

Review: Indie Lee CoQ-10 Toner

Earlier this year, I purchased one of the Caroline Hirons Cult Beauty Box. The set included a few fill size items from her favourites including the Indie Lee CoQ-10 Toner.

Product Claims: This is the ultimate skin quencher for complexions that often feel tight and uncomfortably dry. It’s good for those with ageing concerns, as its star ingredient - CoQ-10 - works to boost the skin’s natural repair and defence mechanisms for a smoother complexion over time. It also contains hyaluronic acid (an impressive humectant), which works to help the skin retain much-needed moisture, while soothing aloe vera, chamomile and cucumber keep skin calm and contented. Think of this as a skin-softening precursor to your serum or moisturiser.

Ingredients: Purified water (aqua), Aloe Barbadensis, Coenzyme Q10, Hyaluronic Acid, Anthemis Nobilis (Chamomile), Salvia Officinalis (Sage), Carica Papaya Leaf Extract, Cucums Sativus (Cucumber) Extract, Citrus Aurantium Flower Oil, Phenoxyethanol and Ethylhexylglyce…

Review: Sunday Riley Juno Hydroactive Cellular Face Oil

Sunday Riley's Juno facial oil is one of my favorites. Although I've finished my bottle, a repurchase is in the near future.

Product Claims: Formulated with a botanically active blend of a cold-pressed powerhouse of superfood seed oils, this formula nourishes the skin with antioxidants, vitamins, essential amino acids, omegas 3, 6, and 9, and naturally soothing agents for a luminous, radiant complexion. Vitamins A and C help to brighten the skin’s appearance for healthy-looking vibrancy, while they fortify the skin with antioxidants to support anti-aging. The oil sinks in, leaving skin hydrated, protected, and ultra-soft for a glowing result.

Ingredients: Rubus Fruticosus (Cold Pressed Blackberry) Seed Oil, Vaccinium Corymbosum (Cold Pressed Blueberry) Seed Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Cold Pressed Chardonnay Grape Seed Oil) Seed Oil, Vaccinium Macrocarpon (Cold Pressed Cranberry) Seed Oil, Rubus Idaeus (Cold Pressed Red Raspberry) Seed Oil, Daucus Carota Sativa (Cold Pressed Wild Ca…

First Impressions: Whamisa Organic Flowers Toner Deep Rich

In the past year, I've completely changed my approach to skincare, focusing on better ingredients that target my needs. About a month and a half ago, I had another bad break out, as a result of stress, lack of sleep, poor eating and inadequate water consumption. Every bad thing you can do that messes up your skin, I had done it, and my face showed it.

To expedite the clearing of my skin, I upped my acid toner usage and switched from Pixi Glow Tonic to Biologique Recerche P50 Lotion, which is a very strong and effective toner. So I wanted a moisturising toner to soothe my skin afterwards, and I came across the Whamisa toners in a Gothamista video (here). The ingredients list and reviews were so impressive it seemed like it might work as a post-acid hydrating step.

*Aloe Maculata Leaf Extract (93.9%), Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate, *Glycerin (0.9%), *Chrysanthemum Morifolium Flower Extract (0.5%), *Avena Sativa (Oat) Kernel Extract (0.5%), *Persea Gratissima (Avocado) …
