Use up the Stash: Update #4 (Mini Reviews Included)

Time for another installment of Use up the Stash. I'm actually finishing products and running out of stuff. I have no liquid shampoos at the moment so my Bobeam bars are getting used regularly.

Alikay Naturals Creme Brulee Curling Custard:
Check out my first impressions here. My thoughts are still the same after finishing the entire jar.

BASK Truffle Butter:
I love this stuff, but I had the misfortune of spilling most of it. It had melted, and I did't know and wasn't paying attention when I opened it. Definitely a repurchase.

Kiss My Face Upper Management Gel:
This used to be one of my HG gels, but it stopped working for me. It felt drying. The formula I have is discontinued. There's a new one out with a completely different set of ingredients. I'm not really interested in trying it.

KTC Coconut Oil:
This is a refined coconut oil that can be found in grocery and beauty supply stores. It's an inexpensive and accessible option when I can't get my hands on…

Viviscal - The "Before" Length Check

A couple days ago I started taking Viviscal Maximum Strength Supplements, which are essentially a multi-vitamin inclusive of Viviscal's trademarked marine protein complex, AminoMar C.

At the time I wasn't able to do photos for my length check, but I did get my hands on a tape measure and record the following. I'll try to do a length check photo this week and upload it to the Kinks of Nature Instagram page and report back in a month with my thoughts and 1-month results.

Length Check (Day 1: April 12, 2014)

Above the ear: 13in

Note: All measurements were taken on a dry wash and go. Each measurement is for where the bulk of the hair landed. For each section though, the longest strands were approximately an inch longer.

I think my last self-trim helped to even out the layers in my hair. I'll be doing another trim the next time I straighten, but will aim to remov…

Quick Tip: Cleaning Makeup Brushes (with Bobeam!)

Brushes after using Bobeam Vashti Ayurvedic Shampoo Bar.
Quick tip: Try using your shampoo bars to clean your makeup brushes.

After a few weeks of not properly washing my makeup brushes and just putting them aside, I finally took the time to clean them..all of them! I knew I'd need something strong to remove the concealers and liquid foundation. I remembered seeing a couple videos on brush soaps and got the idea to try using my one of my Bobeam bars, the Vashti Ayurvedic Shampoo Bar. I rubbed the wet bristles directly on the bar, rinsed and squeezed out the excess water. To my surprise, it was the quickest I've ever cleaned my brushes and also the cleanest I've ever been able to get them. I've had most of my brushes for at least 5 years. Even with frequent cleaning, the bristles become stained over time, but after using the Vashti Bar, the white and off-white bristles that were stained returned to their original color or close to it. Needless to say, I was and still …
