Review: Komaza Care Califia Styling Pudding
Komaza Care Califia Styling Pudding has been in my stash for over a year now, and after 3/4 of the jar gone, I'm finally ready to complete a review.
Product Claims: This is a soft holding styling product designed to elongate curls helping to control shrinkage without drying or flaking. Gives hair softness and shine. Works well to control frizz and smooth hair line. pH balance 6.0
Ingredients: Distilled Water, Shea Butter, Aloe Butter, Cocoa Butter, Sunflower Oil, Dipalmitoylethyldimonium Chloride (A Derivative of Palm Oil), Aloe Vera, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Acrylates, Alkyl Acrylates, Sodium Benzoate, Natural Carmel, Phthalates-Free Vegetarian Fragrance, DHA (Natural Preservative).
Thoughts: I wanted to love this product, but it just wasn't for me. Every use yielded dry, frizzy hair not to mention the obnoxious flaking. My hair looked dull and felt terrible. I've tried it on it's own and in conjunction with other products, but nothing worked. I doubt I'll use what's left, but maybe I can mix it with another product.
The pudding smells like a latte, and the fragrance lingers for a few days after application. I like the fragrance, but it's too strong.
The writing on my old jar has slightly worn off. Komaza now has new packaging, which can be seen on their site.
Komaza Care Califia Styling Pudding retails for $5 (2oz), $15 (8oz), and $24 (16oz). It is available on the Komaza Care site and through select online and brick-and-mortar stores.
Would I repurchase? No, it didn't work for me. There are several raving reviews for this product, though so give it a try if interested. The good thing about Komaza Care is that they sell sample sizes. I also have the Coconut Styling Pudding and will review it at a later date.
