Review: Curl Junkie Daily Fix Cleansing Conditioner

Figured I should start reviewing from the HG List so I's starting with Curl Junkie Daily Fix Cleansing Conditioner.

Product Claims: [Daily Fix,] a concentrated, creamy cleansing conditioner offers a gentle, yet efficient option for cleaning your hair and scalp while providing lightweight conditioning. Daily Fix Cleansing Hair Conditioner allows you to clean your hair without harsh Sulfates or drying detergents and is able to remove all but the heaviest silicones and oils/waxes as well as removing most mineral deposits (if you have "hard" water). Daily Fix lightly preps hair for your conditioners or stylers without the stripping your hair of its natural oils like most traditional shampoos. 97% natural/naturally derived ingredients.

Ingredients: Water, Cetyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetrimonium Chloride, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, PEG -7 Olivate, Guar Hydroxypropytrimonium Chloride, Tetrasodium EDTA, Hydrolyzed Oat Flour, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Leaf Extract, Matricaria Recuitita (Chamomile) Flower Extract, Yucca Leaf Extract, Urtica Dioica (Nettle) Leaf Extract, Melissa Officinalis (Melissa) Leaf Extract, Polysorbate 60, Equisetum Arvense (Horsetail) Leaf Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Fragrance.

Thoughts: So far this is the best cleansing conditioner I've used. It works great if you follow the directions. Adding water is key. It helps with distributing the product and creating a light lather. Daily Fix is cleansing without being stripping. I can use it alone without necessarily having to follow up with a conditioner.

Daily Fix contains peppermint extract so if you're sensitive to it, you might want to skip this product. Sometimes I use it and will get the tingly feel other times I don't. The fragrance is light and minty; not too strong or lingering, very fresh and clean.

The few issues I have with this product are the price and packaging. The price keeps me from repurchasing frequently or even using the product frequently. I also wish the smaller size came with a pump. It's a thick conditioner, and I'm not trying to have a cardio session in the shower while trying to get it out of the bottle.

As far as customer service goes, the owner, Marsha Coulton, is very communicative. I haven't had a need to contact the company in quite a while but the one time I did, I received a prompt and helpful response.

Curl Junkie Daily Fix Cleansing Conditioner retails for $19 for 12oz and $46 for 32oz. It is available on the official Curl Junkie site and other online stores including and The 32 oz size is on available directly from Curl Junkie. If you're lucky, you can also find Curl Junkie in a store near you; click here to view locations.

Would I repurchase?: Yes!

Below is how I'd rate the product in the following categories:

Price: 3/5
Packaging: 4/5
Fragrance: 5/5
Performance: 5/5
Customer service: 5/5

Kinks ;-)

  1. This sounds like something I would like to try. The only thing I'm concerned about is the peppermint. My one experience with a minty shampoo (Suave Rosemary Mint) left my scalp ablaze lol

    1. Well it contains peppermint extract not peppermint oil. The extract is much milder. I only feel the tingling if I leave it on for a prolonged amount of time and have put in some work massaging my scalp. Even then it is a more subtle sensation than other "minty" products I have. If you're concerned, I'd try the CJ sample pack or search the swap boards on Curly Nikki Forums and/or Curl Talk. That way you won't be paying full price dor something that may or may not work.

      Hope this helps.
