Use up the Stash: Update #1 (Mini Reviews Included)
This is a long overdue post, but finally I am doing it: using up the stash! I have too many empties laying around, and they are going in the trash...like now, right now. Read below for the product names and mini reviews. A few of the products are already reviewed on the blog, and I'll provide the links for those. Sorry, there won't be any pics; they're all finished.
African Pride Braid Spray (old formula): my staple for whenever I had twists or braids. I don't like the new ones with the yellow/green wrap on the bottles. Hated those.
Aura Cacia Apricot Kernel Oil: it's a nice light oil with a faint nutty sweet natural fragrance.
BASK Condensed Custard: great on the body. I didn't use it much on my hair. The lemon beignet fragrance is sooooo delightful. You just want to slather your body in it.
BASK YAM Nectar Intense Hair Nourisher: first impressions/mini review here.
Curl Junkie Beauticurls Argan & Olive Oil Daily Hair Conditioner: good leave-in, very moisturizing and smoothing. The con here is the price.
Curl Me Crazy Handmade Never Go Dry Sweet Hair Jelly: full review here. This line was previously called Afrotique.
Hairveda Red Tea Line: these were just meh. Not special and not terrible. I won't be repurchasing. Red Tea Moisturizer reviewed here and here.
Hairveda Whipped Clouds: love this on my skin and hair. Mini review here.
Hairveda Whipped Creme Ends Hydration: love this! Instant softness and moisture for days. Full review coming soon!
Jane Carter Nourish & Shine: aaaaamazing buttah! So smooth...so smooth! Works on wet and dry hair. Easily emulsified. Why is this not on my HG list? ...Oh yea, the price.
Karen's Body Beautiful Sweet Ambrosia Leave-In Conditioner: loved it when I first got it, very moisturizing and great fragrance options. Recently it's just not working for me. My bottles don't have the same ingredients lists, and the consistency isn't the same either.
Kiss My Face Upper Management Styling Gel: good ish! One of my favorite gels, but I only get 3-4 uses out of one bottle. The fragrance is grapefruit.
Kuza Naturals 100% Organic Shea Butter in Mango Tango: smooth creamy whipped shea. Loved it!
Marie Dean Twist & Loc Moisturizing Cream: full review here.
Miss Jessie's Curly Pudding Unscented: it's ok. I used it mainly to install kinky twists. i got this in a swap, won't be repurchasing. Note that this formula is actually different from the scented version.
Naturalee Hair Care Hair & Body Butter: wasn't moisturizing for my hair or body, but it did give a nice shine to my legs. I won't be repurchasing.
Oyin Handmade Hair Dew: full review here.
Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie: I can't believe I haven't reviewed this! It's been a favorite for as long as I've been natural. It works for me as a moisturizer, leave-in, and styler.
Shea Radiance Creamy Sugar Scrub: love this! If you can find it, try it. Other scrubs are heavy on the oil, light on the sugar. This scrub is exactly the opposite and exactly what I needed.
Sofn'Free GroHealthy Milk Protein & Olive Oil Daily Growth Lotion: nice emollience and great moisture for hair, and an even better body lotion. It smells like candy! It does contain cones.
Spiral Solutions Deeply Decadent Moisturizing Treatment: not a fan; full review here.
StatusProfessional Care Hair Mask Nutritive: hated it! Induced a mini drought in my hair. I ended up using the rest for shaving.
Suave Naturals Conditioner: finished several bottles of this. I used it mainly to co-wash, or detangle before washing and occasionally as a leave-in. I stopped using it completely when I noticed how much buildup it was leaving.
Uncle Funky's Daughter Curly Magic Curl Stimulator: full review here.
